Jata Negara I

jata Negara I

Size: 60.96 x 182.88 cm
RM 1800

Jata Negara I and II explores the essence of Malaysians Coat of Arms through two dynamic artworks, reimagined via the lens of pareidolia. Each piece transforms elements of Malaysia’s national emblem into abstracted landscapes, blending historic symbolisms with natural forms. The first artwork, from the Jata Negara, a tiger is depicted as rugged mountain ridges, embodying strength, courage, and Malaysia's unwavering spirit. Their intertwining shapes merge with dense forests, showcasing the harmony between culture, tradition and environment. Tigers are also the finding character of similarity between races in Malay, Chinese and Indians culture. Malaccan Tree is shown upon as a historical foundation to the Malay Peninsula in the Jata Negara, and as it gave the name to The Malaccan Empire. It (Malaccan Empire) gave the Malays a drawn law to build its own form of power and governance all through from the Strait of Malacca to the South China Sea. All through everything, Jata Negara I embodies and exhibits the forms of Malaysian as a whole in landscapes.

Jata Negara II

This envisions the Federated Malay States emblem reimagined as the iconic Penang Bridge. Through pareidolia, the bridge's structure symbolizes connection and unity, representing the historical ties between the states. A majestic hornbill emerges as a focal point, its curved beak intertwining gracefully with the five keris from the emblem. This imagery reflects strength, tradition, and cultural heritage. The flowing lines of the bridge and the hornbill create a harmonious composition, blending natural and man-made elements seamlessly. Rendered in bitumen, the artwork conveys richness and depth, offering a vision of unity and pride within Malaysia's identity. These pieces invite viewers to uncover hidden symbols, reflecting on the country’s heritage and their personal connection to it.

Pareidolia: Jalur Padi

Pareidolia: Jalur Padi

Size: 60.96 x 182.88 cm
RM 1800

A paddy field as a manifestation of pareidolia, where the Jalur Gemilang and Bunga Raya subtly emerges within the landscape. The paddy field, a vital source of sustenance in Malaysia, symbolizes the nation’s agricultural roots and the collective pride we share. The interplay between nature and the national flag reflects how everyday elements of the land contribute to our identity, nourishment, and cultural heritage. Through this piece, I celebrate the harmony between the land and our patriotism, inviting viewers to find pride in the landscapes that sustain both body and spirit.

Show Me Horizon Where Ocean End and Sky Begin

Show Me Horizon Where Ocean End and Sky Begin

Size: 152 x 61 cm
RM 3500

Like the horizon that separates the ocean and sky, this work reflects the artist's search for the invisible line in life that divides who he is from who he longs to become. The blurred horizon becomes a metaphor for transition—a quiet space between the weight of burdens and the hope of rising beyond them.

The title Show Me Horizon Where Ocean End and Sky Begin speaks to this yearning: to find the point where heaviness gives way to lightness, where struggle dissolves into possibility. Through static and distortion, the piece mirrors the uncertainty of this journey, inviting viewers to reflect on their own horizons and the spaces where change
begins.

Polis Sentri

Polis Sentri

Size: 73 x 66 cm
RM 1500

“Polis Sentri” celebrates the joy of childhood and the beauty of Malaysia’s rich cultural diversity. Through the timeless game of Polis Sentri, the artwork highlights the essence of community, friendship, and unity that transcends backgrounds and differences. The children, captured in dynamic motion, represent the vibrant spirit of Malaysia’s multicultural society — each child unique, yet connected through shared play.

The colors — red, blue, yellow, and white — echo the Malaysian flag, symbolizing national pride, harmony, and the strength found in diversity. Each panel offers a different emotional layer: the bright yellow reflects curiosity and youthful energy; the deep blue captures the excitement and fluidity of play, while the bold red grounds the scene in a sense of place and collective memory.

The textured strokes and overlapping forms create a sense of movement and connection, reflecting how individual identities come together to form a larger, unified whole. The game of Polis Sentri becomes a metaphor for life — filled with challenges, moments of pause, and the constant interplay between freedom and belonging.

This artwork invites viewers to cherish the simple moments that unite us and to see diversity not as a barrier, but as the foundation of a stronger, more inclusive community.

A Painful Reminder and A Terrible Dream

A Painful Reminder and A Terrible Dream

Size: 61 x 61 cm
RM 2000

Memory is both a comfort and a curse - a reminder of what once was and what cannot be undone. This work explores the way past experiences linger, not as fixed images but as shifting, distorted fragments that resurface unexpectedly. The setting, taken from The Road Runner Show, serves as a psychological landscape, where time bends and loops, mirroring the way painful memories often feel inescapable. Wile E. Coyote’s repeated failures parallel the struggle of reliving mistakes, caught between regret and inevitability. The painting evokes the sensation of being trapped in one’s own subconscious, where reality and illusion blur into a continuous cycle of recollection.

Atmospheric and evocative artworks depict street scene in Malaysia, characterized by my signature use of cool blues, glowing yellows, and layered washes to create a sense of mood and memory. I paint the ordinary scenes that evoke a sense of longing, comfort, and gentle reflection, transforming everyday scenes into visual reveries. I create uniqueness out from the ordinariness.
