Housed in the spectacular glass structure of Anjung@TRX, this exhibition series reflects our vision of championing Kuala Lumpur's vibrant cultural landscape.

This edition of TRX Canvas Collective is presented in partnership with the TRX Islamic Community Centre (TICC), celebrating the timeless beauty and artistry of Khat calligraphy while inviting artists to explore one of the most distinguished forms of Islamic visual expression.
Renowned for its flowing strokes, expressive forms, and harmonious composition, Khat is more than a writing tradition—it is an art form that embodies creativity, discipline, and cultural heritage. Through this theme, participating artists interpret the elegance of Khat through their own artistic lens, whether through contemporary calligraphy, abstract lettering, typographic experimentation, ink-based works, or graphic interpretations.
Formerly known as Surau Al-Nur, TRX Islamic Community Centre (TICC) was upgraded in 2025 to support the district's growth and accommodate the increasing number of Friday congregants. Today, TICC serves not only as a place of worship, but also as a vibrant community hub that promotes learning, engagement, and community development.

Mohd Nur Hazwan Yusoff
Mohd Nur Hazwan Yusoff is a calligraphy artist and advocate for Jawi script who uses art as a medium to weave Islamic values, knowledge, and cultural heritage into the hearts of society. Although he holds an academic background in Financial Mathematics, he combines discipline and creativity to produce calligraphic works that have been exhibited at numerous local and international exhibitions and recognised through various awards and achievements.
As an active member of both the National Calligraphy Association of Malaysia (PSKK) and the Malaysian Calligraphy and Jawi Association (KALIMA), he remains committed to elevating Islamic calligraphy and Jawi as a living cultural heritage that continues to remain relevant across generations.
Rezeki Si Gunung – 1000 Dinar

The Ayat 1000 Dinar conveys two essential teachings: to remain conscious of Allah (taqwa) and to place complete trust (tawakkal) in Him in all matters relating to sustenance and dependence. Allah alone determines one's provision and provides a way out of every hardship. When this conviction is firmly embedded in one's heart and mind, one will recognise that Allah alone determines every outcome.
Rencana Ha Mim

Ha Mim refers to one of the disjointed letters (huruf muqatta'ah) found in the Qur'an. Its recitation follows tajwid rules that are not immediately apparent from the written text and can only be understood through learning the deeper sciences of Qur'anic recitation.

This artwork features the prayer

written in Thuluth script and formed into the shape of the map of Palestine. Taken from Surah Al-Baqarah (2:250), the prayer means:
"Our Lord, pour upon us patience, make our steps firm, and grant us victory over the disbelieving people."

Ainun Jariah Yaacob
Ainun Jariah Yaacob is a contemporary Islamic calligraphy artist from Melaka who has been actively involved in Malaysia's visual arts and arts education landscape. Since 2008, she has served as a lecturer at the Faculty of Art & Design, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), while actively contributing to the development of Islamic calligraphy through her involvement with the National Calligraphy Association of Malaysia.
She holds a Bachelor of Graphic Design from UiTM, a Master of Science (Design) from Universiti Putra Malaysia, and specialised training in Islamic calligraphy from Kolej Restu. She is currently pursuing a PhD focusing on contemporary Islamic calligraphy based on Shariah-compliant principles.

Muhammad Amierul bin Romiza
Amierul Romiza (b. 2000, Perak) graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting) from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam. His artistic practice centres primarily on historical narratives and abstract expression. In August 2022, he undertook a three-month training programme at Koi Studio, owned by Indonesian painter Rujiman in Yogyakarta, where he immersed himself in Indonesia's art scene, collaborated with local artists, and explored new techniques and materials.
Much of his inspiration stems from his experiences in Yogyakarta, which deepened his interest in themes surrounding history, the identity of the Malay Archipelago, Malay mythology, and cultural heritage.

Sana Batool Qizilbash
Sana Batool Qizilbash is a visual artist, educator, and Creative Media PhD scholar specialising in the contemporary evolution of classical calligraphy. Her artistic foundation is deeply rooted in formal training under world-renowned master calligraphers, including Fuad Kouichi Honda, whose influence she channels into large-scale, script-based abstract art. As an active studio founder and international educator, she translates traditional sacred scripts into fluid, contemporary visual languages. Her expressive, layered canvases have been featured in prominent international exhibitions, seamlessly bridging historical calligraphic heritage with contemporary community spaces.

Prof. Madya Dr. Nor Azlin Hamidon is a lecturer at the Faculty of Art & Design, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). She also serves as the President of the Malaysian Calligraphy Practitioners Association (Persatuan Karyawan Kaligrafi Malaysia) and Deputy President of the National Calligraphy Association of Malaysia (Persatuan Seni Khat Kebangsaan). She is actively involved as an educator, artist, workshop facilitator, speaker, and author across various disciplines of visual arts, with a particular focus on Islamic art and calligraphy.
