TRX Canvas Collective, an initiative by Tun Razak Exchange (TRX), celebrates emerging talents by showcasing their finest works to a wider audience within the bustling international financial centre and KL’s newest lifestyle hub. Housed in the spectacular glass structure, Anjung@TRX, this art exhibition series reflects our vision of championing Kuala Lumpur’s growing arts and cultural scene.
TRX stands as a vibrant urban space where business and finance thrive alongside arts and creativity, brought to life through curated installations, community programmes and exciting events that bring new perspectives into the district.
Titled Ruang & Rupa, this cycle, TRX Canvas Collective collaborates with the Faculty of Built Environment, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and invites students and lecturers of the faculty to explore the relationship between people, places and concepts, and how these elements come together to shape the built environment and the way we experience the spaces around us.
From landscape architecture and interior architecture to town and regional planning, Ruang & Rupa brings together different perspectives from across the built environment. Through drawings, design proposals, spatial studies and artworks, each participant offers a unique interpretation of how spaces take form, respond to their surroundings and create meaningful connections between people, culture, nature and place.

Nurul Qashrina binti Mohamad Izlan
Nurul Qashrina binti Mohamad Izlan is a UiTM Landscape Architecture graduate who currently works in landscape design and event management at ICE (ILAM Centre of Excellence). Combining strategic event coordination with a focus on Nature-based Solutions (NBS), her practice explores modern and sustainable spaces that connect communities with nature.
EXPLORER S.E.E: Dark Tourism Park of Highland Tower

This project reimagines the abandoned Highland Tower site in Bukit Antarabangsa, Selangor, as a transformative dark tourism park that honors the memory of the 1993 tragedy while promoting sustainable urban regeneration. The concept, Explorer S.E.E, stands for Smart, Education, and Energy — the three pillars guiding the design approach.
The park integrates smart technologies such as interactive information systems, smart gazebos, and energy-generating benches to enhance visitor experience and promote environmental awareness. Educational elements like the 5th Sense Museum, Display Building, and Soul Bridge offer immersive storytelling through sight, sound, touch, and emotion — allowing visitors to reflect on the past while learning about disaster preparedness and urban resilience.
The design also incorporates sustainable energy solutions, including hydroelectric rainwater systems, photo-luminescent pathways, and solar-powered lighting to reduce environmental impact. Nature-based solutions (myNBS) such as soil bioengineering, reforestation, and urban cooling canopies address hillside instability, erosion, and ecological restoration.
Key features include:
- Eclipse Vision Park: A dual-zone park with “Left Eye” and “Right Eye” landscapes symbolizing remembrance and renewal
- Barefoot Forest & Tiny Monorail: Sensory trails and eco-transit promoting mindfulness and accessibility
- Hell or Heaven Pathways: A symbolic journey offering visitors a choice between Highland Tower experience and Smart Park
- Smart Infrastructure: Including smart benches, gazebos, and information points powered by renewable energy
Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — particularly SDG 3, 4, 11, 13, and 15 — this project transforms a site of tragedy into a living landscape of memory, education, and sustainability. “Explorer S.E.E” invites visitors to engage with the past, connect with nature, and envision a more resilient future.

Yussyamil Faiz is a Landscape Architect whose work explores the intersection of people, nature and place through contextual and regenerative design approaches.
Sinari Kelam: Regenerative Forestry for Eco-Educational Park Initiatives

Sinari Kelam is a regenerative landscape design proposal that explores the transformation of degraded forest landscapes into an eco-educational park. The project integrates ecological restoration, environmental education, and community engagement to reconnect people with nature while strengthening the ecological identity of the site.
Through regenerative forestry strategies and contextual landscape interventions, the proposal envisions a resilient and educational landscape where ecological recovery and human experience coexist.

This board presents the preliminary study and site research conducted at Lumut Waterfront, Perak, to understand the existing conditions of the selected site. The study focuses on identifying key issues and challenges, exploring the social activities and daily experiences of the local community, and understanding the site’s potential for future development.
The findings from the inventory and analysis form the foundation for developing a meaningful, inclusive, and community-oriented public open space.

Irsyad Syahmi bin Ahamad Razman is an Interior Architecture (Hons.) student who sees space as more than just a physical boundary. His interests lie in the conceptual side of design, exploring how ideas, emotions, culture and human experiences can be translated into meaningful spaces.
